The author created a colorful infographic based on data from the OECD Indicators from Education at a Glance 2009. The data used include the salaries, hours work and class sizes from leading economies around the world. The graphic illustrates that an elementary teacher in the U.S., with 15 years of experience, earns less than teachers in 23 of the 27 countries studied when taking hours worked into consideration.
