(2013, February 5).  “Millions of Dollars Owed to State by Failed Charter Schools.”  10TV News Report.  Retrieved from: http://www.10tv.com/content/stories/2013/02/03/columbus-millions-of-dollars-owed-to-state-from-failed-charter-schools.html

The focus of this report was from the financial side of unpaid or missing tax dollars that the state has determined is “misspent, missing, or stolen.”  The State Auditor has determined this to be $67 million with the bulk of it coming from failed charter schools.

Millions of taxpayer dollars in Central Ohio are missing, and chances are the state will never get them back.
Much of the money is attributed to failed charter schools, such as Harte Crossroads, which opened in the former Columbus City Center mall in 2004.
